Focusing on different resources in each session we cover: Resource specific search syntax, pitfalls and best practice, how to improve or delimit your search, as well as how to save results and searches for future use and reproducibility. In addition to these insider tips, there will be time for Q&A.   

Per Arvidsson, MBB/KI, directs the national drug discovery platform at SciLifeLab, with a mission to support researchers undertaking academic drug discovery in Sweden. Per will highlight the importance of understanding both the validity and the competitive landscape related to your drug target of interest before embarking on a drug discovery endeavor. 

The KIB resource Cortellis Drug Discovery Intelligence (CDDI) is particularly valuable in this regard, as will be demonstrated in this presentation/demo.

Managing your profile page on ki.se and keeping your CV updated is easier than ever, using KI RIMS. We will show you how KI RIMS can help you manage and reuse information about your publications, professional activities, research grants, to populate your CV and more! This workshop will give you a hands-on demonstration and explore best practices on how to use the system. There will be time for questions at the end.

Giving oral presentations is a central part of scholarly exchange. During this workshop, you will learn how to plan, prepare for, structure and deliver effective oral presentations of your research. We will also discuss how to avoid being nervous.

It can seem dauting to visualize something! You don’t want to lose the message of your data and you want to reach your goal, as well as being visually appealing. During this short lunch seminar I will provide you with the right questions to ask yourselves, which will provide clear guidelines to get started on the right track. There will be time for questions afterwards!

This session focuses on the literature review, an important part of your half-time review (and of your thesis). You now have the literature sources you need, but how do you write the review?

BioRender produces professional quality biomedical figures for research dissemination. It contains a vast library of primitives and offers ease of use and creative freedom. Yet, for mid-size projects and the seldom creation of a few figures its licensing agreements may shy away some users. Often, these users turn to PowerPoint and similar tools for the completion of their projects. These tools, while practical, lack the expressivity of BioRender.
