The new MeSH-terms of 2025 are now translated
Every year the MeSH vocabulary is updated with new, changed and deleted terms and in 2025 about 200 new ones were added. These are now translated and searchable in Swedish MeSH.
MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) is produced and developed by the National Library of Medicine in the United States and is used for indexing and searching medical articles in databases such as PubMed.
Swedish MeSH is a translation of these terms, and it is updated annually by librarians working at KIB.
Not all new terms are translated into Swedish. It is the terms that have an accepted Swedish equivalent that are translated. In the MeSH Database you can see how many terms have previously been indexed under Previous Indexing.
Among the new terms, the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the world is evident, with about a quarter of all new terms related to AI.
