500 years of knowledge about childbirth and fetuses
When does life begin? What was it like to give birth four hundred years ago? During the second half of the 18th century, knowledge about childbirth, reproduction, and fetal development increased rapidly. As medical knowledge grew, infant and maternal mortality rates declined.
The exhibition The Fragility of Life was previously shown at Hagströmer Library. The University Library's version is a smaller selection from it.
