Reuse and reproducibility - tip from a researcher
Documentation of research data and analyzes improves the conditions for the analyzes to be reproducible. This allows both you and your research group members and others to repeat the analyzes and arrive at the same results.
If you use scripts to analyze your data, it is recommended to comment on the scripts and publish them openly. In this way, it becomes clear to other researchers exactly which methods you have used, regardless of whether the dataset is openly available or not. Even if your scripts are sparsely commented on, the analysis method will be more transparent if they are published.
Version control such as Git can be useful for handling analytics scripts and other code in research. It is possible to use Github for version control and get a timestamp with a unique persistent identifier (PID) through the Zenodo repository.
There are also other repositories to use.
