Secure your research – self-archiving in KI Open Archive
Self-archiving in KI Open Archive increases visibility and guarantees long-term availability of your research articles.
Since taking office, the new administration in the United States has talked about reducing access to and support for scientific journals. It is currently unclear whether the administration intends to follow through on its statements, but KIB is closely monitoring developments.
In light of this, we would like to remind you that, as a researcher, you can easily self-archive your research articles in KI Open Archive. Self-archiving in KI Open Archive is a convenient way to maximise the availability and dissemination of your research results. When you self-archive your article in KI Open Archive, the full text is made available in a permanent version that remains accessible even if access to the journal or other databases ceases.
- You can self-archive your article by depositing a copy of it in KI RIMS. The article must have been written at Karolinska Institutet, and you should check any publisher terms and conditions before uploading an article.
- The University Library also continuously monitors changes in the content and availability of the PubMed database. At present, there are no signs that publications are being removed to a greater extent than is usually the case in PubMed. Read more in the University Library's FAQ.
