Do you want to make your research paper stand out? Do you want to provide your readers with an effective and visually appealing summary of your key findings? Then join this hands-on workshop to learn how to turn your manuscript into a graphical abstract!
A graphical abstract is a concise visual summary of the main points of a scholarly paper. It can help draw attention to your work and make it more understandable and memorable. As more and more journals request graphical abstracts, being able to visually summarise the key components of a study is becoming increasingly important. But designing a high-quality visual can feel like a challenge. How do you create a graphical abstract that is both effective, attractive, and accessible?
In this workshop you will:
- Learn basic principles of information visualisation and graphic design and how to apply them to create an effective graphical abstract.
- Practise how to translate text into visual elements and sketch out different ways of putting these elements together into a whole.
- Receive tips on how to develop your sketches.
You don't need any prior knowledge or skills in graphic design or software. Just bring a manuscript that you would like to turn into a graphical abstract and be prepared to experiment.
Don't miss this opportunity to sharpen your visualisation skills!
The workshop is held in English but we also speak Swedish.
During the semester, KIB offers a series of workshops and webinars open to all doctoral students and researchers at KI. The subjects varies and we add new topics regularly. See the calendar for times and registration. We also organise workshops and courses "on demand", let us know what you're interested in.
