23-29 October – Community over Commercialization

This year’s theme encourages a candid conversation about which approaches to open scholarship that prioritise the best interests of the public and the academic community – and which do not.

On this theme, KIB is meeting with committed individuals with slightly different perspectives on the changing publishing landscape.

Open Research Data is an area of Open Science that is gaining momentum. One example of an open dataset from KI that has already proved useful to researchers around the world is the CSAW-CC mammography dataset which was made openly available by Fredrik Strand’s research team after approval from the KI data protection office.
