Workshop: Using sources effectively and avoiding plagiarism

A central aspect of academic communication is using sources in a clear and transparent way – a fact which is reflected in the doctoral education at KI. During this workshop, you will learn how to use sources effectively, in ways which will improve your academic writing and help you avoid plagiarising unintentionally.

We will also demonstrate the anti-plagiarism software iThenticate, available to all doctoral students and supervisors at KI. At KI, iThenticate is used to analyse the half-time summary and the thesis compilation chapter. We will show you how the software works, how to upload a document and basic aspects about how to interpret the report. We will also address how reports from iThenticate may form the basis for a pedagogical discussion on using sources.

This workshop is for doctoral students at KI. It is held in English but we also speak Swedish.

The workshop is free but you need to register.
