Welcome to this workshop on 12 October, joined by Alfredo Gimenez-Cassina, Senior Editor of Nature Metabolism, who will present useful tips and advice on how to get your research published.
As a researcher, one of the key challenges you’ll face is how to get your research published in a prestigious journal. If you’d like to know how to maximise your chances of this happening, you should join this workshop on 12 October. We’ll be joined by Alfredo Gimenez-Cassina, Senior Editor of Nature Metabolism, who will present useful tips and advice on how to get your research published.
During the session Alfredo will discuss:
- How to find a suitable journal for your research
- How to structure your manuscript
He will also briefly discuss:
- The benefits of Open Access Publishing
- Requirements for Research Data
- Springer Nature’s approach towards preprints
During the workshop there will also be brief information from KIB about the support and service that the library has on offer for publishing researchers. This workshop is for doctoral students and researchers at KI. It is also suitable for master students interested in publishing.

About the speaker
Alfredo joined Nature Metabolism in August 2021. He received his PhD in Biology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid under the supervision of Dr. Javier Díaz-Nido, developing neuroprotective strategies against mitochondrial dysfunction in the central nervous system.
He then pursued postdoctoral studies at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, under the mentorship of Dr. Nika Danial, where he investigated metabolic checkpoints and their role in responses to pathophysiological stress.
Alfredo led his own independent research group, first at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, and soon after at the Centro de Biología Molecular “Severo Ochoa”, Madrid, focusing on mechanisms that integrate cell signaling and metabolic flux in the central nervous system. After getting tenure, he closed down his laboratory and decided to pursue a career change towards editorial and publishing.
