Giving oral presentations is an important part of scholarly exchange. During this workshop, you will learn how to plan, prepare for, structure and deliver an effective oral presentation. We will also discuss how to avoid being nervous.

Presentation: How to verify your publications in the Bibliometric Verification Toolkit

Researchers affiliated to Karolinska Institutet and/or Region Stockholm are each year requested to log in to the Bibliometric Verification Toolkit in order to verify their publications.

In this presentation we will guide you through how to find and verify your publications in the KI bibliometric system. We will also take you through the steps of setting publication addresses to your publications.

Master's webinar: Effective Peer Review

Workshop: Publish with impact – How to avoid questionable journals

Journals and publishers using exploitative or questionable business models is a growing problem in academic publishing. Questionable behavior could for example include charging authors for publishing without providing proper peer review or false claims about indexing and impact factor. In this workshop we will discuss types of questionable publishing and give practical advice on how to recognize and avoid questionable journals.

Workshop: Writing the literature review for your half-time review

This session focuses on the literature review, an important part of your half-time review (and of your thesis). You now have the literature sources you need, but how do you write the review?

Presentation: Using the database Cortellis Drug Discovery Intelligence

 

Per Arvidsson, MBB/KI, directs the national drug discovery platform at SciLifeLab, with a mission to support researchers undertaking academic drug discovery in Sweden. Per will highlight the importance of understanding both the validity and the competitive landscape related to your drug target of interest before embarking on a drug discovery endeavor. The KIB resource Cortellis Drug Discovery Intelligence (CDDI) is particularly valuable in this regard, as will be demonstrated in this presentation/demo.

During this webinar, you will receive hands-on tips for effectively transforming your thesis into a publishable research article. You will also receive advice from a KI librarian on how to select the most appropriate journal for your research.
