We are renovating in Solna and opening a pop-up library
The university library in Solna will be closed during autumn 2019 and spring 2020 because we are renovating the facilities. A temporary pop-up library is available in House 75 (Hus 75) on Retzius väg 13B (floor 3) on Campus Solna.
The Lunden area, group study rooms, the resource room and silent reading room are closed for visitors. Workshops in Synapsen 1 & 2 in September will work as usual, use the staircase just after the Medical Bookshop. You will be let in by the workshop leader.
Opening hours pop-up library
Monday – Friday 8:30 – 10:00 and 11:30 – 13:00 (no extended hours)
At the pop-up library, you will be able to borrow course literature, pick up reserved books and get library support from our staff. All books in the pop-up library have a 7 day loan period. Books from collections outside of the course book collection will not be available during the renovation.
Please note that you will not be able to use the pop-up library in Solna after hours. During autumn 2019 and spring 2020 extended opening hours will only be available at the library in Flemingsberg.
The book drop in Solna has moved to Retzius väg 13A.
There are no computers for longer sessions in the pop-up library. Students can instead use computer room Hanna further down the hall, or other computer rooms at campus Solna. Public users who need to use a computer are referred to the library in Flemingsberg.
- During our opening hours we can help you with all general library questions.
- We will offer drop-in assistance in information searching and reference management on weekdays at 11:30 – 13:00. You can also book an appointment for other times during the day.

Why are you rebuilding?
We are rebuilding the entire library in Solna because the premises are worn out and no longer appropriate for the purpose. The rebuilding involves a complete renovation of all surface layers and new floor plans. In the meantime, we offer a temporary pop-up library where course literature and reserved books can be borrowed. We offer drop-in guidance in information searching and booked appointments in academic writing.
Why can't you borrow books from the specialist book collection (literature outside the course book collection)?
All books except the course literature are packed and stored and therefore not accessible to the staff. We recommend students to order the book from Flemingsberg if needed, or search the national library catalog Libris to see what other Stockholm libraries have the book. We are happy to help!
Why do you have such short opening hours in the pop-up library?
The library is undergoing extensive renovation, which is why we have to temporarily reduce the opening hours in Solna. The Flemingsberg library is open just as usual, and you can reach us by phone, chat and email during most of the day. You can also book information search guidance if you do not have the opportunity to come during these opening hours.
