International open access week
The theme of this years international open access week, 21-27 October, is Open to whom?
Open access means free access to scientific results on the Internet and this relatively new way of publishing science is becoming common practice. The idea is that all tax funded research should be made freely accessible to the public without charge. At KIB we constantly work on spreading information regarding open access.
In a series of blog posts by Henrik Schmidt, librarian here at KIB, presents the recommendations for the change to an open access scholarly publication system, recommendations the National Library of Sweden has held the appropriation directive from the Swedish Government to produce.
