Title: Biology at the nanoscale - what we can learn using DNA origami

DNA is not only a carrier of genetic information, it can also be used as a construction material to build objects. DNA nanotechnology and DNA origami is the art of folding DNA to whatever shape we want. In my lab we use these tools to try to understand how nanoscale separations between molecules influence for example cell signaling and antibody binding. I will describe both the general technique and give examples of how we and others have used it and how I think it will be used in the future.

The lectures take place 12:15 – 12:45 in the library on Campus Flemingsberg. Students are invited to take part in a lunch time lecture on an interesting topic while enjoying a sandwich and drink (on a first come, first served basis). Sandwiches are served with most allergens and diets in mind (gluten, vegan etc).
