Selection criterias

For the selection of electronic books we have used different criteria. An important criteria is that the book should fall within some of KI:s subject areas. We want to collect titles in as many of these topics as possible, but the titles are still mostly only for doctors, researchers in preclinical subjects and students in medicine.

For selection we have used the following quality criterias:

• Is the book available in print editions?
• Is the book easy to use, are there search options?
• Is the book new?
• Are there information on authors and/or publisher?
• Is the book complete?
• Has the book been peer-reviewed?

Finally we have considered issues on availability. We try, for example, to avoid resources demanding registration with password control. Of importance are also that the price is in relation to the value the resource give our users.
