Academic Writing Support

Do you want to improve your academic writing in English? Welcome to the KI Academic Writing Support! We can help you develop your academic writing skills, focusing on aspects such as structure, grammar, clarity, and style.  All undergraduate and master’s students at KI are welcome to make an appointment to discuss any written assignment, free of charge.

Making an appointment

E-mail us at sprakverkstaden@kib.ki.se to request an appointment, and we will get back to you within three work days.

You may book two appointments (45 minutes each) per text, but the second appointment may only be booked after your first visit.

Preparing for your appointment

Please send your text as an e-mail attachment to sprakverkstaden@kib.ki.se  at least two work days before your appointment (if you send it later, we may have to spend part of the session reading the material), and bring a printout to the meeting. We will read and comment on parts of your text (approx. 3 pages) – but we recommend that you send us the whole document so we may get an overview. Please mention which section you would like us to focus on, and if there are any specific aspects that you would like to discuss – this will enable us to help you better.

Cancellations

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please send an e-mail to sprakverkstaden@kib.ki.se as soon as possible. If you fail to contact us, your missed appointment will count as one of the two you may make for each text.

Finding us

Our meeting rooms are located on the library premises. In Solna, you will find us upstairs (on floor 3), and in Huddinge on the entrance level (floor 4).
