Printing and copying at the library
This guide will help you get started with printing and copying at the library and in computer rooms on campus. You'll need a KI card and your student login, or a library card with a corresponding computer login before you can start.
Please observe that you will get 3 different activation codes during the process! When asked to log in, always use your student account (library card for external visitors).
Step 1 of 4: Swipe your card

Walk up to any printer and swipe your card against the symbol pictured above. After a few second you'll receive a printout with a registration code needed in the next step. The code expires after an hour.
Step 2 of 4: Register your card

Log in to Cirrato with your student account (or library card if you're an external visitor). Choose ”Card registration” and enter the registration code from the printout.
Log in to Cirrato as a KI student/staff or as an external visitor.
Doctoral students and KI staff can print for free, and are not required to complete the following steps.
Step 3 of 4: Create a PayEx account

All students and external visitors now need to create a PayEx account to be able to pay for prints and copying. If you already have one, you can skip this step.
Create a PayEx account here. Use an e-mail address you can easily access, since you will receive an activation code to confirm your account.
Step 4 of 4: Connect PayEx to your card

You're now at the final step, where you need to connect your PayEx account to your KI card (or library card if you're an external visitor). Be prepared to receive yet another activation code to the e-mail address you used to sign up for PayEx to be able to complete the process.
Start the guide as a KI student or as an external visitor.
All done!
You can now print and copy on all printers in the student environment. Swipe your card against the card reader and choose the documents you've printed from a computer, or simply use the copy function. For more detailed instructions, read the FAQ "How can I print and copy at the library?"
